Anyone interested in growing a better canola or wheat crop should
attend the University of Georgia’s 2002 canola and wheat field
days on any of three April dates.
The field days, offered by the UGA College of Agricultural and
Environmental Sciences, will be:
* April 9 in Baxley, Ga, at Randall Odum’s farm 10 miles south on
Route 1.
* April 10 in Tifton, Ga., at the Rural Development Center off
I-75.
* April 16 in Davisboro, Ga., at Ray Cobb’s farm on Route 24 just
east of the Washington County Correctional Institute.
Each event will start at noon with a sponsored lunch. UGA experts
will then brief participants on recommended varieties and new and
improved management practices and technologies . There will also
be a tour of test plots and an update on the new Georgia
farmer-owned oilseed cooperative.
