For the growing number of people who raise goats in the
Southeast, the eighth annual Goat-a-Rama will be an exciting
event near Tennille, Ga., April 3.
The event will offer demonstrations on goat care, farm safety and
cooking, along with a youth show-goat clinic, a trade show and
six educational seminars. Spaces will be provided, for a small
fee, for private-treaty goat sales.
A “smart drenching” lecture and Famancha worm-identification
workshop will be offered for a $30 fee. Preregistration is
required.
The Goat-a-Rama will be at the Washington County Farm Bureau Ag
Center at 882 Grady Mertz Road southeast of Tennille. Admission
is free, and door prizes will be given. Lunch, including goat
meat, will be available at the Ag Center kitchen.
