Joseph Glauber, deputy chief economist at the U.S. Department of
Agriculture since 1992, will speak on “Agricultural Policy and
the World Trade Organization” for the annual J.W. Fanning Lecture
Jan. 14 in Athens, Ga.

WTO negotiators from 147 countries are working out an agreement
to liberalize trade in agricultural products. The new framework
trade agreement is the topic of Glauber’s address.

The Fanning Lecture will be at 10:30 a.m. in rooms K and L of the
Georgia Center for Continuing Education. Registration and
refreshments begin at 10 a.m. on the second-floor concourse.

A noon luncheon and awards ceremony will follow in the banquet
area.
