Walter
Reeves

Are hornets friends or foes to the gardener? On the next
“Gardening in
Georgia” Sept. 27 and 30, host Walter Reeves helps you
decide whether to kill a
hornet nest or to leave it alone.

Reeves will also check out the “slime time” garden
pool at the Griffin, Ga.,
Research and Education Garden. It’s full of green algae. But
Tony
Johnson, from Anthony’s
Arbor Landscaping, decides to control it with plants rather than
chemicals.

Finally, Tara Dillard has dreamed of a hedged entranceway to
her garden since she was
small. She sends Reeves up a ladder to decide what to cut away
to
make the garden opening
more formal.
