Water testing is required for many postharvest water uses on farms covered by Primus audits or the U.S. Produce Safety Rule. However, despite its relatively straightforward nature, food safety educators frequently receive questions regarding sample collection best practices. This brief video describes how, when, and where to collect a postharvest water sample intended for generic E. coli testing, as required by the Produce Safety Rule for produce wash water.
